Synthesis of Paracetamol (Acetaminophen)

Combine 10.9 g of 4-aminophenol with 30 mL of water, stir vigorously. Slowly start adding 13 mL of acetic anhydride, then heat the hot plate to 120°C and cover the beaker with aluminum foil. After 1.5h of stirring under 120°C, stop the heating and place the beaker in an ice bath. After it solidifies, add some cold water and filter. Recrystallize in hot ethanol or methanol, and precipitating the crystals in a freezer, wash the crystals with cold water.
