In a beaker dissolve 5 g of camphor into 30 mL of ethanol and slowly, with stirring add 2.5 g of sodium borohydride. After the addition reflux for 15 minutes and pour the still hot solution into 60 mL of ice. Filter the mixture and wash with some cold water, dissolve the product in 30 mL of DCM and dry with some anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filter and evaporate down. Recrystallize with DCM.
