Synthesis of Hexakis(antipyrine-O)terbium(III) triiodide

A solution is prepared by dissolving 10 g of antipyrine in 75 mL of water whereto a solution prepared from 3.3 g of terbium chloride hexahydrate in 14 mL of water is added. The solution is heated to 95°C with stirring, and a hot solution prepared from 4 g of potassium iodide in 4 mL of water is added to the mixture. Subsequently, the mixture is brought to boil for one minute, then removed from the heat source and let to slowly crystallize in an evaporating dish.
