Synthesis of Copper(I) iodide

10 g of potassium iodide are dissolved in 25 ml of water. Thereafter, 7.52 g of copper sulfate is dissolved in 25 ml of water and the solutions are combined. Subsequently, 100 mL of ethanol is added, the contents are filtered and the step can be repeated to obtain an iodine-free product.
