Synthesis of Boron nitride

8.6 g of boron trioxide is combined with 20 g of dry urea in a crucible. The crucible is then heated with a burner for 30 minutes with gradually increasing heat with constant agitation. The mixture is then cooled down, powdered and taken up by a solution made from 75 mL of dilute HCl, the mixture is left to stand for 12 h. The mixture is filtered, washed with 70 mL of cold water and 20 mL of ethanol.
