Recrystallization of Sulfur

Boil impure sulfur with dilute sodium hydroxide to remove some impurities, dry the sulfur. Dissolve sulfur in 90°C toluene, let it cool down and wait until about 50% of the toluene has evaporated, recover the crystals, dry them and let them settle in dry ethanol for a week to remove toluene. Wash them with water and dry. Note that the boiling step is only important if the sulfur is very impure.
