Extraction of Piperine from White Pepper

To a soxhlet extractor add 240g of oven-dried white pepper, to the RBF add 800ml of ethyl acetate, reflux for 5h. Cool the solution down and evaporate the solvent, recrystallize 3 times in hot ethanol or acetone.
