Extraction of Parietin from yellow lichen

22 g of coarsely crumbled yellow lichen (Xanthoria parietina)  is combined with 160 mL of ethanol, subsequently, it is heated to a gentle boil for 30 minutes. Wherein an RBF, which is filled with cold water, is placed on top of the beaker. The mixture is then filtered through a preheated filtration apparatus, and the filtrate is then quickly placed in a refrigerator. After which the mixture is filtered, washed with some cold ethanol and air-dried.
